The name story and logo philosophy

From a simple popular word to a digital Shewala for commerce

We did not look for a complex technical name, but one our audience understands quickly — one that carries the feeling of the market, goods, livelihood, and an easy start.

Why the name Shewala?

Shewala is a simple, people-friendly word derived from shwal / shiwala, meaning the sack or burlap bag once used in traditional commerce, filled with goods carried by the seller on his back.

In Yemeni popular culture, the word evokes gathering, packing, trade, livelihood, the market, and goods. That aligns with the platform idea: helping merchants prepare their "digital Shewala" and start selling in a simpler, easier way.

02

Symbol philosophy

The symbol combines the shape of a Shewala/goods bag with the letter "sh" at its heart. The goal is for users to quickly understand that the project is about commerce and products, while feeling the identity is Arabic and local — not a generic e-commerce logo.

The Shewala

A symbol of goods, gathering, and readiness to sell.

Letter sh

Connects the symbol to the name and gives it Arabic character.

The kasra

A pronunciation and identity touch supporting the reading of shiwala.

03

Meaning of the colors

Dark blue

Trust, organization, and professionalism without excess.

Green

Growth, movement, sales, and a fresh start.

Orange

Attention, offers, and lively accents.

04

Why a popular name, not a technical one?

Because a popular name is more understood by our audience than a technical one. Shewala should not feel like a complex platform that needs a long explanation, but like a tool close to the merchant that says: prepare your products, organize your display, and start selling without the headache.

Shewala = your digital Shewala: a simple place to gather your products and show them to customers from one link.

Summary

Shewala is not just a name, but an attempt to build e-commerce closer to people, simpler to use, and more aligned with everyday selling in the local market.
